Queue Management Resource

The queue management solution of smartiKette consists of three elements: the Queue resource, displayed on screens, the Totem, which allows users to join a queue, and the Controller, which monitors all queues and manages their progression.

How to add a Queue resource

  1. Log in to the smartiKette Dashboard.
  2. From the top menu, select Resources.
  3. Select Queue management.
  4. Click Add.

Queue configuration

When you create a new Queue resource, the following fields are available:

  • Resource name → the title used as a reference in the graphical display template.
  • Control mode → defines who manages the queue progression.
You can choose between Native control (smartiKette) and External system.
Select the second option if queue management is handled by an external application and smartiKette is only responsible for displaying queue values on the screen.
  • Service name → the service associated with the queue.
  • Ticket prefix → indicates the prefix that identifies the queue, printed on the ticket.
  • Initial number → the first number of the queue.
  • Final number → the last number of the queue.

Visual customization

On the right side, smartiKette shows a preview of how the queue will be displayed on the screen.
The visual appearance of the queue can be configured from the common player settings.

Display modes

Queues can be displayed in different areas of the layout:

  • Side Zone → column-based display.
  • Main Zone → extended display in the center of the screen.

The system automatically adapts the layout and the amount of information displayed based on the selected zone and the available space.

Queue display has priority over all other content: when the player detects the presence of a queue within a channel, it will display only that, ignoring all other content in the same channel and in other channels.
